Sample Story for Ms. Bloggs from St. Aidan’s National School in Wexford from Student Niamh Murphy

Headline: MS. BLOGGS VOTED 2019 TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Sub-Headline: Wexford School Teacher Receives Top Award

Story:

Celebrations continued late into the night at St. Aidan’s National School in Wexford, as Ms. Bloggs received her 2019 Teacher of the Year Award. This will be her second time to be awarded the prestigious and fiercely competitive prize.

‘It’s an absolute honour to be giving you this award', Norma Foley, Minister of Education told Ms. Bloggs at the ceremony. ‘If I could get all teachers to be as hardworking and dedicated as you, I could easily cut the number of teachers by half.’ Ms. Bloggs told the minister that she thought that would be a great idea, and suggested she first try out her new policy in the Dáil.

Previous pupils of Ms. Bloggs were in attendance last night. Among them three Nobel Prize winners, two Academy Award nominees, a Booker prize winner and an almost runner up in the Eurovision song contest.

‘Part of Ms. Bloggs’s prize is a week of sun, sand, sea and salsa!’ said the Principal. ‘I can’t wait to see her face when she arrives in Bundoran, County Donegal.’

Some parents of previous students were in attendance last night also. ‘We miss her so much,’ one of the parents commented. ‘Our children just haven’t been the same since they left her class.’

One of her favourite pupils, Niamh Murphy, told us how happy she was that Ms. Bloggs had received the award. ‘Ms. Bloggs is the kindest, most patient and encouraging person I know,’ Niamh Murphy said. she later added, ‘will you tell her that I said that, and maybe she won’t give me so much homework?’

Ms. Bloggs will also be appearing on the Late Late Show this Friday. ‘I can’t wait to meet her,’ Patrick Kielty said. RTÉ is believed to have offered Ms. Bloggs her own reality show - Super Teacher, but she has sadly declined.

We at the Irish Gazette would also like to wish Ms. Bloggs our congratulations for being the deserved winner of such a prestigious award.
