Sample Story for JOE BLOGGS from TEMPLEMORE

Headline: JOE BLOGGS TO STAR IN REMAKE OF DUMB AND DUMBER

Sub-Headline: Templemore star and Colin Farrell join forces for summer blockbuster.

Story:

In the age of Hollywood remakes such as Batman, Spiderman and Superman, one obvious exception has been missing from among the classics – Dumb and Dumber. Colin Farrell was an obvious choice for Jeff Daniel’s role of Harry Dunne, but Jim Carey’s character has been a closely fought contest.

Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller were obvious favourites but it was Colin Farrell himself who pushed for Joe Bloggs to join him on set. ‘I’ve wanted to work with this wacky guy for some time,’ he said. ‘Like most people from Templemore, he’ll bring a certain edginess to the film.’
There’s believed to be a new twist to the plot, written this time by Dublin writer, Roddy Doyle. ‘I wanted to write something that would allow Joe the opportunity and freedom to really show off his talent. He’s far too unpredictable to be confined by my mere international award winning words.’

Already there have been rumours of an on-set romance between Bloggs and leading lady Angelina Jolie. ‘They’re just not true,’ she denied, however Brad Pitt flew immediately to their filming location in Malibu. ‘No, I don’t feel threatened by Joe,’ he commented, ‘I know everyone says that he’s like a younger version of me but we’ve been for a beer and he’s a really nice guy. I fully trust him. By the way, have you seen Angelina anywhere?’

Quentin Tarantino is directing this time round. ‘I’ve worked with Colin before but I’ve never worked with Joe,’ he said. ‘At first I thought he’d be far too good looking for the role, but now that I’ve met him in person, my fears have been allayed.’

We caught up with Joe coming out of Jolie’s trailer this morning. ‘We were just going over some of the script,’ he assured me. I asked him how it felt to have come this far, all the way from his hometown of Templemore. ‘It’s really not that strange,’ he told me, ‘being from there I always felt a little different than everyone else. A little superior I suppose.’

We asked him if he’s afraid of being stereotyped into dumb characters now? ‘Not at all,’ he said. ‘I’ve already been offered some great new parts; Homer Simpson, the new Joey from Friends and a remake of Forrest Gump.’ Whatever happens, we’re sure that it’ll be a bright (well maybe not that bright) future for Joe Bloggs.
