Writing for romance
Remember a special time you shared. Tell them how you felt, include details, little moments that made it special. Sincerity or humour are the perfect ingredients, so be honest, be descriptive. Try not to think too much about what you think they would like to hear, focus more on how you genuinely feel. If you get stuck, then you’re probably trying too hard, try quoting lyrics, a line from a film, or poem to get going again. Striving for perfection can kill it off; remember your first take is probably going to be the best.
Valentine's Poems
Plenty of love,
Tons of kisses,
Hope some day,
To be your Mrs.
Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue,
Hope you like the gift,
Keep me some too!
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you.
Rose are red,
Violets are blue,
Love never crossed my mind,
Until the day that I met you.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
When thinking of love,
it’s like thinking of you.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Here are some poems,
I made up for you.
Tomorrow is Saint Valentine's Day,
All In the morning betime,
And I a maid at your window,
To be your Valentine.
(William Shakespeare from Hamlet, Act IV, Scene 5)
O, my luve's like a red red rose
That's newly sprung in June
O my luve's like a melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.
(Robert Burns)
I love thee, I love thee,
'Tis all that I can say;
It is my vision
in the night,
My dreaming in the day.
(Thomas Hood)
Love may not make the world spin around,
but it certainly makes a lot of people dizzy.
